Re: So what have you done since August 2003?

Even though I'm barely active, I've followed NC off and on for close to 10 years so I had to reply! I'm reminded of this place most often when I see Jessi occasionally pop up on my Facebook feed (that honestly sounds creepy no matter how I say it). I barely remember seeing the old forums before this...

Re: Pokemon Generation V Thread/Discussion

So after watching everyone talk about Nuzlocke runs, I booted up my old FireRed and started one of my own. 1. Lava the Charmander killed the first Pidgey he saw with a critical hit, meaning no Pokes for me on route 2. :x 2. Moose the Rattata died due to a critical hit from a freaking Weedle. :? :x 3...

Re: Pokemon Generation V Thread/Discussion

I beat the gaaaaaaaame. <3 Well, the E4 part of the game. I don't think I'll ever REALLY beat a Pokemon game with the full pokedex. The final team: Wired, Nova, Isle, Razor, Pippin, Okapi. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/f/f5/596.png http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/e/e2/494...

Re: Pokemon Generation V Thread/Discussion

@RD - sometimes the hidden item IS on the very edge of the forest/cliff/boundary of the game world. The only time you see an item become centered under your feet (and the finder show the little circle centered on the screen, vs. pointing in any direction) is when you encounter it on flat ground. But...

Re: Pokemon Generation V Thread/Discussion

Larvesta was the first Poke I encountered that has Flame Body. IDK if this is spoilery or not to say where you get it, since it's kinda off the beaten path, so... If you have surf, backtrack to route 1 and eventually you'll make your way east to a small building where the larvesta egg is gifted to y...

Re: Pokemon Generation V Thread/Discussion

Oooooooooh thank goodness Madge. I'm glad you pay more attention than I do. :D Now I can maintain a sliver of hope that the third version will either make the C-Gear optional or add more trainer battles. If EITHER of those things were fixed I'd probably enjoy this gen so much more. Not that it isn't...

Re: Pokemon Generation V Thread/Discussion

I'm really hating the lack of trainer rematches too, and I can't possibly figure out why they would just remove that... it adds replay value and everything. And now I'm kinda emo over the fact that an interview with one of the main creators said they AREN'T considering a third game- why the heck not...

Re: Pokemon Generation V Thread/Discussion

Um, yes, this is worth me posting yet again. >>; So I got to the part where I can finally get a pair of Joltiks, and after only a few breeding tries I got super lucky with a Timid male, Compoundeyes. WOOT! So I head off to the forest with him holding a lucky egg intending to fight just one or two au...

Re: Pokemon Generation V Thread/Discussion

I think the start of the game is significantly harder than previous gens. Mostly because the two normal types (Lillipup and the meerkat, still haven't learned names well enough yet...) are BROKEN. Hypnosis + Retaliate is a terrible combo, and the meerkat gets them SO early. And the pup's early, high...

Re: Pokemon Generation V Thread/Discussion

I'm up to the town just past the desert now. Even though I'm still not a fan of most of the gen 5 pokes, the game is my favorite now for one very important reason: UNLIMITED TMs OMG. I definitely missed this memo even when I was spoilering myself about everything last year. This makes SUCH a massive...

Re: Pokemon Generation V Thread/Discussion

I decided on White (mostly because the epic eagle is only in that one, if I remember correctly) and stopped by Target to get it today. I'm only 3 hours in and SUCKING MAJORLY, haha. It feels like the game is somehow harder than earlier gens with trainers and wild pokes leveling up faster than usual....

Haha, damn.... 3 years. I think I'm going on 6? MAYBE SOON I WILL GRADUATE TO FRONT-ON VIEWS OR SOMETHING. Slight edit to give him more ~personality~ and less 8D derp derp , along with color: http://i54.tinypic.com/b8r5gk.png ...and it just occurred to me that you all might not be familiar with his ...

Re: Random Tiki Arts

Ugh, I haven't drawn in months. I'm having a bit of a personal crisis where I'm realizing that I will not have much/any time for Subeta for the next two-three years and part of me has been trying to quit the site so that I won't be tempted, while the other part is going "OMG WTF NO DON'T GIVE U...

Re: Aywas - A somewhat new take on the whole petsite thing

Not to be a downer, and I certainly don't want to imply that Encyclopedia Dramatica is a reliable source of information, but I do want to (gently) warn people about getting too involved with this site. The staff and many prominent players were active on Tygras and Wajas during 2005-2008 when I was a...

Re: Pokemon Generation V Thread/Discussion

So... having fully animated sprites is possibly the GREATEST thing to ever happen to Pokemon. ;_; A bunch of pokes that I originally thought looked awkward/ugly in the still images are completely awesome when brought to "life." And seeing the old gen pokes moving around brings me epic joy....
