Re: A returning player
Hey! Welcome back :-) Glad to hear all your stuff is still where you left it, in the meantime you've missed a couple of pretty decent plots and a few changes to Neo but I don't expect it'll take long to catch up. I think most of us are still here, though maybe a little quieter than before. I hope th...

Re: Zombie and Pastel Blumaroo
I'm a bit underwhelmed by Zombie - all the ingredients are there but it seems less than the sum of its parts somehow.
Pastel is plain and simple and would make a great base colour if you don't like the basic blue. And this Pastel is novel - it doesn't look like a marshmallow sweet.

Re: Neopets (and Donna) mentioned on the BBC... briefly
Yes, she did sound extremely fed up with how far they were pushed to comply with their sponsors - as an example she mentioned a game they were asked to make which was basically Wheel of Excitement but involved spinning a toothbrush and was to be called 'Wheel of Brush' (I don't remember this one so ...

Re: Relic and Pastel Peophin
Relic is great, the sprouting weeds are perfect, it'd look perfect in an overgrown graveyard or derelict mansion. Very evocative and nicely made.
Pastel is the most foam-sweet looking Pastel I've ever seen.

Neopets (and Donna) mentioned on the BBC... briefly
Was anybody else surprised to see Neopets (and their creation of 'immersive advertising' in the early 2000s) featured in the documentary programme 'The Men Who Made Us Spend' on BBC2 earlier? It included a brief conversation with Donna and description of the site's techniques regarding advertising t...

Re: Neopets Founder AMA
I'm surprised few of us UK-ers had got the Brain Tree/Braintree thing. Ever since I noticed that I've been over-alert to potential place-name references. Roxton Colchester and Clara Chatham (and to a lesser degree Mr. Krawley ) all set off my 'we just stuck a pin in the south-east page of a UK road ...

Re: Neopets Founder AMA
I was watching the Fast Show special episode earlier (which featured a brief mention of 'Scorchio!') Wow, there was lots of that to read, took bloomin ages! I vaguely remember that a long time ago I used to suspect that the DIV single 'Aisha' was the inspiration for the pet. They've certainly been o...

I thought it was Chocolate when I saw New Features, until I read the description. It's definitely unique! I wouldn't want to be scratched by whatever carved those notches.

Re: Neopets sold by Viacom to some company I've never heard
Rant about there still being no 'unconversion' paint brush, (but followed by an acknowledgement that they've said time and again that this won't happen), plus some other stuff that I can't now remember.

Re: Stealthy and Pastel Shoyrus
Hah, with the lighter outlines & eye the Pastel looks like a sticker that's faded in the sun.
I do like the burgundy-coloured clothing on the Stealthy, and the windswept effect is evocative too.
