I think the problem is that the base you're working off of sucks. The species needs a revamp, and virtually anything that isn't completely redrawn is doomed to fail. I thik they did a decent job on the head-dress but the color is... WRONG... there is no level upon which that color is RIGHT, especially in some of the poses...
