Re: Checkered and Disco Ogrin
Checkered: This is actually pretty nice. The black areas have subtle checkboards on them, and the underbelly areas are slightly lighter as well to help break up the markings. The checks look like they conform well enough, but that might just be because there's no large areas on an Ogrin. Disco: Nice...

Re: Christmas Hissi
This is actually really nice. Simple, but appealing to the eyes, and I like the incorporation of the candy cane striping with the Hissi's normal underbelly. Shame there weren't any clothes to go with this though - would it have been too hard to slap an oversized Santa coat and hat on it? (I thought ...

Re: Dimensional Usul
There's already a Gold Usul. Here it is for a side by side comparison: http://pets.neopets.com/cp/ckz38mxb/1/4.png http://images.neopets.com/items/usul-dimensional.jpg There is, but I couldn't remember that off the top of my head on news day. (Though honestly, I still think the new one looks more l...

Re: Dimensional Usul
My exact reaction: "Huh, that's a interesting looking Gold Usul. I'm not sure there's enough orange tones in there, but at least it doesn't look like butter, so that's good." "Wait, it's supposed to be dimensional?" "...Are you sure?" Anyway, yeah. Doesn't look all that...

Re: 8-bit and Mutant Wocky
8 bit: Kind of an oddity, as 8-bit pets are usually posed differently (head-on) rather than keeping the same pose. Agreed that it looks 16-bit rather than 8, but I'm more concerned with whether the pet itself looks good, which it does. A shame it's just the usual blue instead of something more inter...

Re: Water Bruce
Someone said this looks like a Fruit Gusher and now I can't unsee it.
Anyway, wouldn't have minded some more transparency but not bad overall. The green tints in the underbelly look very nice. It's too bad they didn't put some subtle flowing effect on the head feather though.

Re: Purple and Polka Dot Vandagyre
Purple: My first reaction is "Why is it pink?" and... yeah, I still kind of feel that way. It doesn't look bad or anything, but it doesn't really strike me as a purple pet either. I think I would've preferred the underbelly to be the lighter purple on the stripes, then reserve the pink for...

Re: Baby Vandagyre
I don't know how I feel about this. Part of me says it's kind of cute, part of me says that it looks like a plushie and not a living thing, and part of me says the lower body is really poorly drawn. I think the main problem is the pose - it's just... standing there looking like it's going to tip ove...

Re: Polka Dot Mynci and Ogrin
Mynci: I think I would've actually preferred if the colors were inversed here - there'd be more polka-dots if they were on the outside, and the face would be easier to make out on a solid colors. I'm not really digging that color of the eyes either - I think a blue would've worked better to stand ou...

Re: 8-bit Cybunny and Water Meerca
8-Bit Cybunny: This is super cute! I can actually picture this hopping around in a video game. It also seems to follow the color restraints pretty well. Though I do agree with greeneggsandgraham - the light source is really unclear. I think it's coming from the right and the other shading's supposed...

Re: Strawberry Blumaroo and Pastel Acara
Strawberry Blum: Not much you can do with strawberry. The only thing I will say is that the artist missed a perfect opportunity to make the hairs at the top on the head into a stem. Pastel Acara: Let me just say that after waiting for 2 years for this, I am super pleased with this. I paint my pets b...

Re: Biscuit and Strawberry Pteri
Biscuit: Nice and crumbly with good texture and chip placement. No complaints here. Strawberry: Is strawberry. I feel like the seeds could stand to be a bit smaller and more plentiful, and the feet really feel like they should be red instead of green, but it's not bad overall. Also, I love how the t...

Re: Elderly Shoryu
I think it's pretty good overall - the clothing is nice and it matches the female well. The hat is tilted the wrong way though, and the glasses are... weird. I don't know how you'd make glasses on a Shoyru look not weird, but I feel like the right lens should at least be going back in space a bit mo...

The body also looks str...

Re: Stealthy and Eventide Jetsam
Stealthy: I'm not sure I get the head wraps - shouldn't it just be wearing a hood with a few bandages over its face to hide the brighter areas? It does look plenty stealthy however, and the eyes really lend themselves well to this color. Eventide: Hooray for not straight-across gradients! The colore...
