I actually do like the purple on top. It is the one collaboration of purple and any shade of orange or red I've liked since the freckle disease plauged the purple pets of neopia. However, many people don't like it, and I wouldn't honestly mind that much if they changed it so the purple isn't up there anymore. It's not that big of a deal to me. The rest of the colors go together quite nicely, like on most rainbow pets (sadly not all).

Scorchios really should be next up. -shrug- But no rush, I suppose. They are not getting any uglier.

No revamp? What the hell? :(

Yeah, it's bad. Ugly outdated art and bad colour arrangement choice.

I don't care for rainbow and I really don't like Scorchios, but I was not expecting anything *that* horrid looking.

Somehow the purple on top looks even more ugly because the red beneath it is more of an orange than a real dark red. *shudder* I guess that is one of the few pets I would morph if I ever got it from the lab. Mostly because of the awful outdated art. Revamp it already! Please?

Actually...

It appears to me that the base that this is a colorfill of is the PRErevamp Scorchio.
Way back when (2001?) scorchios were very slightly redrawn.

(EDIT 7:55AM: Or, if you don't like clicking on lots of links, I made a nifty comparison chart!

Perhaps a subtle hint that a redraw is indeed on the way?

Nah, they just weren't paying attention to which image they recolored

Ahahaha, TNT, you are so clever! Putting this, the work of 30 seconds, on the servers to FOOL us all into thinking that the Scorchios will not be revamped on March 14th!

... right?

I wish they wouldn't release fancy new colourfills on pets that are so CLEARLY in need of new art. Someone out there is going to splurge on a rainbow scorchio and then hate it when the revamps rolls through - someone always does. And scorchios could, potentially, be rather cool. The Dargian, Maraquan, mutant and plushie scorchios are fantastic.

As the self-proclaimed rainbow pet connoisseur, I must admonish TNT on this one.

They had it so good with the Gnorbu, if a little over pink! It was a rainbow pet of beauty! The revamped rainbow eyrie was perhaps the most awesome of all rainbow pets ever!

But this... this is terrible.

The things I look for in rainbow:

1) Bright colours
2) Good transition between colours
3) Colours being in sensible places

This loses on all but the bright colours - I mean, they ARE bright. There's no refuting that.

The transition is poor, especially between blue and dark purple.

And don't get me started with the purple on the head. It doesn't work. At ALL.

Also, the scorchio is so flat.... I hope it gets revamped.

Scorchio day is on Tuesday (I know because it's my birthday!), but this new colour would imply that we're not getting a revamp.

LAME.

I actually quite liked the purple on the head before I read this but now you've all made me doubt myself :? It does look sort of ....odd, but I really dislike it when rainbow pets have red heads, it always makes me think they're really flushed or something.

Scorchios definitely need a revamp though, they're the kind of pet that I really want to like but find it impossible to own with the flat, outdated art of the colourfills.

The purple wouldn't have been so bad if it would have been a bit lighter, more redish kind of purple. And off course if it would have been placed properly, now it looks just like the scorchio is wearing some kind of odd hat with two antennae sticking out...

Oh, ick. It's bad enough the purple is on the head, but why does it continue on to the wings? And why does the color revert along the length of the tail? Its like, instead of coloring the animal's body, they used a scorchio-shaped cookie cutter on a rainbow background.

Well, that makes sense of the fact that my first thought upon seeing the comparison was "wow, that's a horribly lazy redraw... it looks worse than the existing one!"

The placement of the purple, as has been said, just doesn't seem right. And, the shadows aren't dark enough- if I'm questioning whether or not they shaded, there's a problem.

Scorchios need a redraw badly. I hope they get one, though this makes it seem unlikely... T_T
