Tyrannian Koi

All Poses

I'm undecided on this one, on one hand it's a bit plain, on the other it looks very prehistoric. :/

[Edit] Split was also uploaded for some reason and I added it here and then took it away. So yes, ignore.

Eh. It looks like they were attempting to go towards a coelocanth type creature with the oddities in the fins, but didn't execute it very well.

I like the patterning and the color, as it fits a Tyrannian pet, though ... the face looks rather wonky (even though it does remind me how prehistoric fish jaws are set up ... just doesn't seem to fit well with the koi's rounded head.)

All in all ... a "meh". It's a cool design, but I think I'd rather have the Mutant Koi, as it's better drawn.

Not bad. I like the ranged attack pose, and the color is nice, but they might have done better to model this pet on a real Devonian-era fish, instead of just putting spikes on a Koi to make it look more primitive (although I admit they did a nice job on the teeth). Something like what they did with the Tyrannian Mechafish toy:

Something with bony plates and a heavy bony jaw like that would have been really cool.

I...think I like it. I particularly like the fins and the jaw plates.

Hmmm; I think it will grow on me. My intuition likes it because it doesn't have the silly koi face. It's a quite nice concept as well, but very simple in execution.

It's not bad. A bit plain at first sight and it could stand to look a bit more prehistoric-ish, but it is fairly well drawn and it's a nice enough design as it is. The only thing that really bugs me is that it's barely redrawn at all in the emotion poses, but the battle poses are cool enough to make up for it.

But most of all I'm glad the Koi got another proper redraw color! :)

Eh, its okay. Could be better, sure, but it could also be a heckuva lot worse LOL.

It's hardly a redraw, but there is something appealing about it.

I like all battle poses a lot, but the rest of them feel just sort of... off. I think the problem lies in the way the jaw is drawn - it looks like it's wearing a mask :I Plus, the pose looks very frozen and unnatural.

I'm very glad we got a second koi colour. Only one just wasn't fair!

That made me giggle. xD

The more I look at it, the more it grows on me haha. I don't think Id ever own one, personally, but the battledome poses are pretty nice. =)

I actually love the concept. Some of the poses are lacking, however. The circle and happy poses especially have very awkward looking facial expressions, and look rather stiff in general.

So not a must-have for me, but if I really liked Koi I might consider it.

Hmm.

I still want my Dunkleosteus. I find this a little too generically prehistoric-looking, and the art is not that great -- what is up with the teeth, as seen in closeup in the photo image? But I like the battledome poses -- particularly the close attack, which I think is beautiful. I don't want one, but I think once I get over the lack of giant horrifying axe-like cutting plates instead of teeth, I will at least be sympathetic with people who do want one.
