Jubjub re-vamp

What, no-one's pointed out the uncanny valley yet? Uncanny valley. Yes.

Yeah, it's a very drastic and needed redraw, and it's good, but... the eyyyes. And I'm still not fully convinced those feet are connected. Also the mouth's annoying me, just because it seems to be turned too far in the direction of the jubjub's head... if that makes sense. Oh yeah, and it looks waaaay too human *points to link*

I reckon MM might be right about the eye-shape, though. Anyone with uber art ski11z want to edit them?

I seriously love the eyes though, I love how they are cute and anime-ish. I don't think the eyes look human at all, if anything they remind me of a puppys eyes.

I love how fluffy they are, my one slight cirtisism would be the feet, I would much prefer them to have legs like the mutant JubJub

[edit] I mean with like knees and stuff, not nessesarily the claws and warts...

AE, Pigmy Puffs is what I thought of first as well. Too too much input this early. I wake up,. poke the birthday bar and OMFG what is that adorable new pet? OH MY GOD IT IS A JUBJUB. It is such a shock, kinda like how it is when you see a friend of yours looking really really hot. I have always hated jubjubs, and now I must have one *looks at full accounts* Well, I will have them all in spirit. They are definitely the cutest thing this side of OMG. Also, I like that they look kinda crazy, like if they don't like you, they could jump up and snap your neck with their toes. I like that in small cuddly animals.

Hmm. Fortunately, I generally like it. Since I own a jubjub who could never be anything but.

But I'm not entirely pleased with the face. It doesn't look like the face of a creature that's basically just a ball of fur. It's... pasteded on yey. And I do miss the old sitting down look - clay pulled it off so nicely.

Not devastated though. I do far prefer to the closed smiling mouth of circle to the creepy wrong angled smile of happy.

Well, I finally signed up here just to comment on this. I wasn't a huge fan of Jubjubs before the revamp, but I liked them. I do agree that the revamp looks much better art-wise, but their personality also seems different somehow, though I can't exactly say why. Someone suggested trying to make the eyes more round, so I present you my crappy edit:

I also removed the "nose" and made the toes a little less prominent, since I always liked the Jubjub's feet to look more paw-like. Finally I changed the mouth to be closed, which I think actually makes the biggest difference since it returns some of the old look's shyness.

But it still looks odd.

I think this is an excellent revamp, precisely BECAUSE these pets are now as creepy as all hell. Nice. All it needs is a nice meepit petpet.

I agree. However, I like it loads more then the old one. Still not jumping to get a Jubjub anytime soon, but at least now I can save Uni mps since I won't have to use one whenever a pet turns into a Jubjub.

I hope they leave Grey and Maraqan alone though.

I think it looks great, and is not creepy or human-looking. It certainly doesn't get anywhere near the uncanny valley for me. I thought that described things that are actually realistic but fail to be convincing because they're too close to human without being human? Even if you see a person's face on the Jub, it's hardly "almost human".

It seems no more human-ish than any other anthropomorphized cartoon critter on the site, to me.

Oh, my GOD, it's cute! And well drawn! And CUTE! I don't even see how one could be creeped out by it. Doll eyes? Seriously? The old one had horrible round, black, soulless eyes! This thing is just pure, unadulterated CUTE. I feel bad about giving away Xattz now... CUTE!!!

The face is too human, the eyes not round enough and the eyebrows too small. The big-browed owl eyes were the coolest thing about the species, if not the only cool thing.

Much like the acara and kougra revamps, I hate it.
It is way too cute and definitely kind of creepy looking.
I actually screamed in horror when I saw it for the first time.
If they mess with grey, I will do someone from TNT serious harm

Iris! What is it with people coming back this week?

I really, really like it. It looks a lot like Aqua's darigan jubjub, and is pretty much adorable in a slightly creepy meepit kind of way.

I wonder who drew this? It doesn't look much like the art we've had recently at all, though it reminds me of the darigan acara a little, with similar line thicknesses and the frown style.

the only problem I have with is, have you noticed how shiny it is? It shines so much more than something furry should...

Eh, if an animal's fur is very healthy, they can be shiney. My black cat shines. The light also matters too.... He's pretty shiney in sunlight.

They aren't classic JubJuby to me. It's in the way the fur and overall body is shapped too, not just the eyes. They're okay though, for a creepy cute pet.
