This is like, super old. Please do not bump old threads. The fact that the registration link doesn't work would have been relevant about 3 months ago, although it might just no longer be active. You'll probably need to contact the site staff for help if it's still running. If anyone's still playing and has something to say about the site, pm me to unlock this.

Does anyone play Rescreatu?

Post by cpvr »

A virtual pet site ... sort of Poke-mon meets Neo-Pets.

I'm loving it.

We actually had a topic about this a while ago, created by the owner of Rescreatu. A few of us signed up, but I don't think it really "took off" here.

It's a decent site, but it never really kept me busy for long.

Having signed up, I couldn't log in. The owner offered me customer service, but never followed up on it. The concepts are interesting, but the pet art is hit-or-miss, so I didn't pursue it.

Yep.

It's possible I've got my password wrong -- which, given that I default to one of a couple of dozen stock passwords for any account for which security isn't vital, would mean I would have had to mistype a familiar word, twice, when I signed up -- but password recovery doesn't work, so we may never know.

I used my mod powers to merge this new thread with the old one. Just tidying up really. Carry on.

Thanks. I was wondering what happened to the thread.

I've recently joined as Linshya. It's an interesting concept but, again, the art is close to under third rate. A few of the pets are nicely drawn but the planets and places themselves are very poorly drawn, childish without the cute I'm sorry to say. I think it has potential to be great with the idea of hatching, training, and even selling your creatu but there are quite a few problems aside from the graphics and the slow connection (which could be my computer but it's a brand new mac so I don't think so).
-There are very limited ways to earn actual Tu (money) and the shop systems are very unorganized. The main shops of the worlds don't seem to restock at all! It's quite frustrating to see the same items in the shop that you saw yesterday. The rancher shops don't seem to be in any particular order at all. Prices aren't in order, at least none that I can discern.
-The donation shop is just ridiculous. Credits cost 10 cents, which doesn't sound so bad. Except the minimum purchase is 100 credits! And then the creatu eggs are 200 credits a piece! A $10 minimum purchase with eggs at 20 bucks a pop! Are you crazy?! Yes the art of the eggs in the donation shop are a notch above the other pets but they're NOT worth 20 bucks! The donation shop needs a complete revamp. There needs to be more items with a complete price change. I know it's expensive to run a website but really now that's practically robbing people. The other two options are just as crazy. A transfer of 100,000 tu can get you 1 credit. That's a butt load of money right there that it's really hard to earn in the first place. The last option would be to completing 'offers'. They can be three pages or more of survey questions that will get you about 10-12 credits a piece. At the top of the page it says " We suggest only those who are over 18 participate in these offers." And one of the current offers is flomax. The male prostate pill. Excellent.
-There needs to be a definitive guide. The help page is currently down and apparently hasn't been up in awhile. There needs to be a page that tells you what to do, how to play ect. For example, I've just trained my pet and his energy is down. How do I get it back up? I've fed him, I've seached potion, energy, energy potion, and a multitude of other things. It would be nice to be able to go to help page or even a fan site to read up on what to do.
-Training. It's a cute idea with the stretching and intensity and such but overall it's a bit, easy perhaps? I don't understand the challenge of training the pets. For one it's free, which is nice but, again, not challenging. For another it's easy, you just click buttons.

I think over all the site is getting there. It needs a TON of help but if the problems with it are fixed and the graphics updated it has the potential to be a fresh, creative site. I wish good luck to the owners and I do encourage people to join. The more people to join with ideas the more potential the site gains.

I just signed up as SyrusAllen. So far, I think I like it but I'm still not sure. My character is a rancher, I thought that sounded really interesting and fun and since on Subeta I can do the merchant type thing any day. XP

Thanks for the info, Linshya. I checked it out a little bit myself, and the themes are interesting. But overall, I agree that they still miss out on most of the basics. Again, lots of copying Neo without much understanding of why things are the way they are and how it began.

I'm still secretly pounding my brain for ideas and scouting for workable concepts for a pet site.

And what the heck? Zarabethe runs this and Misticpets? I find it hard to be a coincidence for two people with the same name to be admins/founders of two pet sites. Honestly, if that's the case I can't fathom why she'd do two mediocre games instead of making one really solid game.
