Has everyone checked the latest news post? If we can get the count of users online up over 200 and keep it like that for a half hour, they'll put a pandoria box in the giveaway for four hours tomorrow (they will announce the time in advance). Everyone will be able to have one! So... get on over there, and get everyone else you know who plays over there! There are 140 online right now.

Yeah, I've kept my window open since the announcment was up so it would count me as logged in.

I really hope they do it more towards the evening tomorrow, as I work from 8-4 (my time is an hour ahead of Mistic's time) and if they do it in that eight hour span, I'm outta luck. I really don't want to miss my chance at a free Box just because I had to go to work and I won't have access to a computer.

I have to work 8-4 as well, so I'm with you on the time frame Heto. The most I've seen online is 147 and if we have to keep it at 200 for 30 mins, I don't know how likely it is. But I'm staying online with my fingers crossed.

I don't think it'll happen today, sadly; it's 8 PM Mistica time and they're struggling to maintain 150. I hope they'll retry the challenge again soon if it fails today.

Whee, a friend got a Baby Pandoria Box yesterday and gave it to me since she had no use for it (I made her sign up and stay logged in hoping we would have reached 200 members heh). Hoping to trade that for either the Ocean or Storm boxes.

The Challenge failed, I guess the highest was around 170. But they said that the challenge would remain open and they will have the Box Giveaway once we reach it.

Ohh wow, Misticpets redid their entire Explore layout. Its now done entirely in Flash and you can move around the world by pressing the arrow buttons in the corner. I know some of you don't like Flash, but I personally don't mind and think the new design is rather neat. A bunch of new lands were also marked on the map, though since they aren't open yet you can't click on them.

However, I wish you could choose a full view of the map, or it leaves off where you were last, similiar to how it is on Neo. Whenever you leave the map page it resets, and if the place you want to go is on the other side you have to wait while the world turns.

Theres a crapload of new places marked, can't wait to see what they will become when they get released.

I hate flash (I adblocked the Neo explore map), and even though I have a decent computer and Internet connection, the map moves very slowly for me. I don't like it at all.

I don't think its your comp that makes it run slow, the map turning animation is just slow in and of itself.

Maybe they should consider adding a version of the old map so people who can't use Flash can still use Explore.

I don't use Explore all that often myself though, as all the shops, games, or quests that are in the world are all listed under their appropriate side bar link.

I found a fansite advertised on the forums. It's not huge, but it does have a nice list of misticpals, which is something I was looking for. Are there any other fansites out there?

Also, anyone know anything about that "incident" they mentioned in the news?

It was nothing egregious--three users created a bunch of stupidly named pets based on inside jokes (like "lol___isfat") and dumped them in the pound. Staff deleted the two-dozen or so pets, but for some reason, proceeded to clear the entire pound even though there were no more bad names left. *shrug*

Oh yeah, and if you're looking for Misticpals or any other kind of item, you can simply leave the search box blank and press enter. It'll return every item on the site.

...am I the only one who's really sick of the weekly long-winded camaraderie speeches in the news? They act like they won the world freaking cup or something. I'd snark on the site but there's no point, because most users are suck-ups.

The announcements are slightly more blog like than actual news posts, but I think when there is more going on with the site they will shorten a bit. I hope...

Yeah, the news posts are a bit repititive. There's only so many times you can thank the staff and users before you just start to get on everyone's nerves.

I think they mentioned in the forums that they might think of clearing the pound once either every couple of months or once a month to clear out some of the badly named pets and free up nice names of pets that are in the pound.

Two days ago, the staff took a bunch of the pets that had been in the pound for awhile were painted or turned into limited edition pets. There was a lot of nice pets floating around in there. I adopted Wintra the Ocean Gourix which is my favorite pet on the site so I was thrilled. I saw a crapload of other Terror pets and such though, it was rather fun to refresh and help other users find pets they liked.

We're trying again to hit 200 users and keep that many for a half hour. Right now there are 197 people online, so maybe we can do it today! If we do, there will be pandoria boxes given away to all comers for a four-hour period tomorrow. Come and help!

EDIT: It doesn't even have to be 200 users online for 30 minutes in a row, just total. So every time it hits 200, that time counts. If you've been considering signing up, now is a great time -- you could have an expensive redraw pet by tomorrow!

When I saw this I logged on, and the goal had already been met. Nice: I get a box and I didn't even have to do any work! It's a baby box, which is unexciting to me (I love a couple of the baby pets, but not in the way where I want one), but again -- no work at all.

It worked, the counter reached 200 and tomorrow from 4 to 7pm Mistic time there will be a baby pandoria box in the giveaway for ya. This is awesome, I have an oceanic one valuted and now a baby one. My greed may overcome my love of painted pets because I want all the books. Heh.

That's awesome! I wish you were giving out different boxes, though, instead of the same one to everyone. It would be a lot more fun to get a random box and trade for the one you want, and then it wouldn't kill the market for the baby box.
