Adoption Rules

Post by Jazzy »

Placing a pet up for adoption:
- You are allowed to choose who adopts a pet based on whatever criteria you like.
- You may not charge people or demand anything in return.
- You may not ask for petpage applications - a simple PM or neomail must be enough to get the pet.

Requesting pets on the request thread:
- You must have either 25 non-spam posts or have been a member for a month.
- You may only have requests up for five pets at once - if you'd like to add another, you'll need to ask to have one request taken off.

Some things to keep in mind with the new system:
- The quick adopt link no longer works. Instead, there's the option to use a transfer, or the pound itself.
- The second method can be used as often as you like, but receiving the pet is not guaranteed. Transfers are limited to receiving and sending one pet per calendar month.
- In order to transfer a pet with its clothes, you must use the transfer option rather than the pound.
- This is what will happen to clothes, using a Royal Zafara with Island accessories as an example:
If you transfer, the person will receive a Royal Zafara, but with no Island accessories.
If you use the Pound, the person will receive a Zafara in the base Royal colour, but with no Royal clothes and no Island accessories.
There is no way to keep the Island accessories on this pet when it is moved to a different account.

Bumping this topic to remind people:
You may not post in response to a thread in the Adoptions forum - you must PM the person instead. If you say on the thread "I want this pet!" or "I love this pet but my accounts are full", etc, your post will be deleted. Posts will only be kept if they ask a question other people might want to know the answer to, eg "does this pet come with the clothes?"

The reason for this rule is so that the person who originally made the thread can delete the post if they wish (eg if the pet has been adopted or is no longer for adoption). If anyone replies, the original poster can't delete their post.

Thank you!
