I joined Maraqua despite not really knowing what the hells going on.. I wasn't on neo for basically all of 2006 so.. :s

also, the complete lack of instructions I found somewhat bizarre, and the mouse controls for the actual game seem really awkward, especially when you just accidently mouse over a player you don't even want..

Can someone explain how the event runs? Like, how is it made fair for the uneven teams? And how does a points / ranking system work? Cheers :D

You are a member of team Mystery Island!

Yay, I guess.

Last year's event was an elimination tournament. The teams were divided in half and played against each other. The winners continued on to be matched up, eventually in the final match of Darigan vs Haunted Woods, and the people on the losing teams had to pick a new team or quit playing. This year is different, so I can't offer more information than what is given. I'm not a sports person, so this is new to me. Last year, there weren't adjustments made for teams with significantly few winners. I can't quite remember, but do know they had total points scored for each team and I think they went by who scored the most per player or something? I dunno. You got 1 point for winning a game, no matter your actual score in game. Everything else, ranking and the round-robin play, is entirely new.

I went with Terror Mountain same as last summer. My team still holds some of my least favorite species on Neo, but I'm glad they got rid of tuskaninny and got a buzz instead. Normally I'm not big on buzzes but this one is really lovely drawn - it reminds me of the way Armi does them.

I don't think I'll be killing myself with playing as I've been growing more and more detached from Neopets since mass pet revamp, but I'll play along just to see how it all unwinds.
Man, I really wanted to join TM solely for the Buzz's design...I LOVE it with a passion(kudos to the artist very much). I had to stick with Tyrannia though cause Tyrannia is my favorite region. I do love Tyran's Goalie.

It seems TNT really thought this one out more then last year and I hope that teams will be more fair.
Maybe it was just me, but Tyran was slow as crud when I used them last year, but this year they seemed way faster...like Haunted Woods/Krawk Island.
I did forget the controls to reset my teams postion...

The new "balls" are a nice addition...I still hate faerie with a passion cause it wastes too much time trying to get it to score, that you kinda have to give the point away to progress.

I know I got most of the month to play cause of break, so I'm happy. I had fun playing last year, even if I had to switch teams three times. I hope that Tyrannia does good this year.

thanks huggles that makes a bit more sense then - and this years rules seem a bit fairer, switching teams just sounds a bit weird to me :s and by the sounds of this, it will feel like you got near to the end even if you come last heh :D

I picked krawk island because I already made a set for it last year. It was that or tyrannia, because I have a set for them too.

I feel dumb, but are there instructions on how to play this game? What keys to use? The instructions don't work when I click the practice game.

Well I finally decided with Darigan. I couldn't leave my loyality. I stuck with them last year and this year I'll go with them. They still have my favorite charaters on their team and I'm a Darigan fan girl. ^_^

Erin, use the mouse and left click on the player you want to play as, move the mouse to move the charater and then hit space bar to kick the ball when you have it.
Playing the pratice reminds me just how much I suck at this game. ^_^" I got the clockwork yooyuball and it exploded as soon as it got on the feild. I haven't gotten the darigan yet so I haven't gotten to see how that handles first hand.

o_0 You do? I just tested again to be sure, but every time I try hitting the space bar all that happens is that my active player just stops dead right where it is, ball and all, and I have to mouse over it again to get it moving again. *feels v.v.v.stoopid right now*

So, is there a secret way to get the spacebar command working? Because that would help, a lot. Yes.

Oops! **head meets desk** So sorry, no need for you to feel stupid, I'm the stupid one. My brain totally ditched me while posting this. I got mixed up, left mouse click to pick charater and shoot. I don't know why I said space bar to shoot. **sheepish** Always re read post before posting. ^_^" Sorry for confuseing. I do wish the space bar would let you shoot though, be so much easier it would. Again sorry for confuseing. **thumps head**

Hee, it's okay, don't worry about it. =D I'm just glad that this wasn't another of those horridly-obvious-to-everyone- but-me sorts of things.

Have they made the game less easy? Last time there was that place you could shoot from where it went in every time, but I can't seem to do that now. Best I can manage is a 0-0 draw.

I went with Virtupets. They have some serious BA characters.

It's a pretty sweet line-up. There strengths outweigh their weakness too. Not a big fan of Keetra Deile, she seems a little out of place. However XL Striker 3.8 is sooo cool!

Gr. I hate how they made it so specific - 8.00AM NST. If they can't meet that, surely just say 'tomorrow morning'.. yeah im bored and should be revising, need something to distract me..

Last night there was some seriously bad glitches with the Trading Post and the bank, and people were able to duplicate Neopoints. That is why those sections of the site are currently down. Personally, I can cut TNT a bit of slack for being OMFG10 minutes late when they have a glitch like that come up.

TNT are only human, after all, and they cannot anticipate everything all the time.
