New petpet - treasure chest

Post by oogabooga »

The url says "treasure chest", but I have no idea if that's the name or not.

I think it makes a very weird petpet, though I suppose you could always get one and name it The Luggage.

Hee.

It puts me more in mind of a D&D-style mimic (this is a creature that exists only to dick with adventuring parties: it sits around looking like a treasure chest until you try to open it, and then it executes a +3 bite 2d6/+3 bite 2d6 attack routine with surprise and takes your arm off at the shoulder. I just made those numbers up, I don't know of an actual third-edition Monster Manual entry for the mimic. There are many mimiclike monsters in games that borrow heavily from D&D, such as Nethack) than the Luggage, but points for the reference. It's ... totally awesome. I love the art.

What he said. I would have had one in a heartbeat. Probably for my royalboy kyrii instead of a minitheus. He'd have liked that.

Although, I must admit I thought that petpets were getting treasures chests—mini item galleries—like pets have on Subeta. Quite wtf? for a second there.

Don't worry, you aren't the only one that thought that

I don't know if I like it or hate it. Its so different from any other petpet we have that I think it stands out a little too much from the site, but the art it is nice.
Wanna donate towards my drink gallery, the Golden Goblet.

I like it! My first thought when I saw it was "I hope that's a petpet" and then it was. I like the art, I think it's cute. Overall, a good addition.

I LOVE it! It's quite different, and at first I thought it was a Pirate painted petpet.
I want one for my Pirate Yurble. It'd be the perfect adddition... and any other Pirate pet really without going with a colour match which can sometimes be boring.

Jellyneo says it's a 'Pirate Petpet', so I'm presuming it's sold from the Little Nippers shop on Krawk Island.

No... My "Get-back-to-Neo" thingy is twitching again. Have I ever told you about the best Mimic ever, the level one from the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game? They're awesome, and Mimics are one of my favorite fantasy creatures out there. I want one of these "Treasure Chest" petpets, even if it doesn't ever get any colours. If it ever gets Mutant, though, I'm just throwing that out there.

I have nothing to add, except that, like everybody else, I so love this petpet. One of my pets, definitely has to have it.
If you're ever in doubt, throw a pepper in the air. If it fails to come down, you have gone mad, so don't trust in anything.
