How high can we count?
How high can we count?
Ok people, I saw this on another forum I drop in on occasionally (who in turn took it from an unreferenced different forum), and thought we could probably manage it ourselves.
The rules are simple: Find a picture with the next number in it, and post it here.
However, it's probably worth posting a few more guidelines:
- a picture with lots of numbers in it doesn't count (e.g., 7 was covered on the other forum as a children's "learn to count" poster, with 1 through 10. I think that's cheating, so it's not allowed here
- no inappropriate images, this is a family game! You know who you are...
- no double posting, wait a sensible number of posts before posting again
- NO HOTLINKING, this means you LOSE. There are image hosts out there (LJ, Photobucket, or even IM me and I'll host it for you, though you will probably miss your number that way).
EDIT: Duplicate number posts are inevitable, don't worry about posting one too much. But if you've spent a while without refreshing the page, it may be worth checking before you post that someone's not beaten you to your number or ones after it.
EDIT 2:In response to Ooga, #5, taking photographs yourself and posting them is allowed. However, this reminded me of a rule I didn't post: photoshops are not allowed, they are a crime comparable to hotlinking.
The other forum I've seen is up to 386, apparently where they took it from is over 800 by now. I reckon we can beat that

Re: How high can we count?
If we can't find an image online, are we allowed to go take a picture of something?
Number 5 (I think the new bills are hideous, they look like they've had juice spilled on them):

Are we allowed to use pictures including things that are not technically numbers, but look just like them? I think that would be fun. If so, here's 7. If not, I'll edit in a picture with an actual 7 instead.
Edit: Bah, here you go. Boring picture with a 7!
(Here was my original picture, for anyone curious. I love that movie.)

Re: How high can we count?
Interesting question. I don't think that it's really in the spirit of this game, going on what I saw on the other forum, so I'm going to say no and ask you to edit the number 7 in like you offeredCranberry wrote:Are we allowed to use pictures including things that are not technically numbers, but look just like them? However, I think it would be really cool to have a parallel game running using not-technically-numbers, so feel free to spin it out into another thread. Race you?

Haha, nah. I'll edit my picture, but then I'm probably out... it's just too easy if you Google image search the number, even in the triple-digits. I like the idea of doing a parallel thread, but I think it would get way too hard once we got out of the single digits.

I don't think that means you can just draw a number on a bit of paper and hold it up, say And this is going to get harder in double or triple digits.

Re: How high can we count?
Way to break your own rules :0P Though in a completely acceptable way, I think, given the context. Plus it does say 11 on there three times ;0)
Dunno about you, but I'm not asking...
