Revamped Graveyard Demi
What a great revamp! The new one is stunning, and kept much the feel and design of the old one. The coloring is so soft here, kudos Sayle (she does the Demi's right?). I really really love the tail on this one, and the pretty main.
I'm sort of tempted to morph Morgyn into this.
Wanna donate towards my drink gallery, the Golden Goblet.

Re: Revamped Graveyard Demi
I love this one! Sayle did an awesome job, as usual, but I love all of her art xD I love how the old pose was kept, and the same general feel of the pet - no new gore was added, just the same old cuts and scrapes it already had. The art has just been improved to look loads better - I even love the new colors used, and how you can see its bumpy spine.
It's a shame the GY Keeto revamp wasn't done more similar to this - I mean as a touchup instead of an entire new design. This is just perfect! And again, my biggest thing with this is I really hope Ty will like it xD

I... don't like it. The colors are too monotonous for me, the old demi had a patchwork feel of a lot of different colors. Kudos on it looking emaciated, but I wish they could have kept the old color scheme and... I dunno, made it look more "dead". As it is I feel like it's just a green demi that needs to eat something.

I really liked the colors on the old one, but I can deal with this. XD The more I look at it, the more I like it. It looks quite happy with its zombiness. Cute.

Re: Revamped Graveyard Demi
It's probably the most consistant transition I've seen in a while! I can't say I'd be upset or happy about the change because I just don't like the new demis one bit. I worry if they'll change reborn because it's technically 'old art', but it's my favorite reborn pet on the whole site. The consistancy is very good though. Kudos.

Re: Revamped Graveyard Demi
Okay. So, I have one of these, and I've been terrified. Overall, it's a much better revamp than the GY keeto. I'm very, very grateful that much of what I liked is there.
However, I have problems. Mainly, it's very, very monochrome, and kind of flat. The shading doesn't pop. I know it's graveyard, but some highlights would really help. The shading on the face is so subtle that, at first glance, it looks unshaded. The hair could also really use some highlights. Just because it's dead doesn't mean that light stops shining on it.
I also loved the weird pale markings, which are now gray. I guess they just didn't stand out enough? But it really changes the expression on a base level.
I am very, very glad that the pose and the hands and the eye color were kept. Very damn grateful. The linework is great, really fantastic. But the coloring could be improved.

Ty: I'd be more than willing to send you a version with your pet's specific colours or markings for you to use as an overlay if you'd like. I was in favor of keeping the colours as similar to the old one as possible, until I saw that they weren't the best choice with the new palette (the old demi's colours are quite far from the current palette). I'm so sorry that two of your pets were revamped in such a short time, by the way!
I don't plan on touching reborn unless asked to. I too love the reborn demi (and have one! Check out Descartes, yo).Usul_Princess wrote:I worry if they'll change reborn because it's technically 'old art', but it's my favorite reborn pet on the whole site. The consistancy is very good though. Kudos.

Thanks, Sayle, that's sweet! I admit I loved the old colors--mainly the lighter markings. Especially for the eyes. If it's an easy re-save for you, having light markings instead of gray would make me feel better.

Re: Revamped Graveyard Demi
I personally enjoy this revamp c: it's nice for a change not to have a completely torn up, gutted GY pet, which I usually
don't mind but zombies can look cute as well :3 I agree the shading is a bit weak in areas like the hair and face but overall
it's a spot on revamp ^^

Re: Revamped Graveyard Demi
While I like the idea of the color palettes and the consistency they provide, it seems like this is a fairly common problem. They are too restrictive towards creativity. Encouraging artists to stick within them is one thing, but if you can't step out and use a pale color and instead have to be restrained to the existing palette... That's really ridiculous. You have to be adaptive to changing situations.
I have to agree that I like the pose and line art, but the colors are blah. I would have liked to see more yellow, maybe in some high lights. Something about this seems very... Sage-y, which is a pretty color, but one I consider relaxing and peaceful, not suitable for zombie day wear.

Re: Revamped Graveyard Demi
A nice update! It keeps the personality of the pet while updating the art. I love it when updates go this way. I have to agree with others though, it is quiet monochrome. But other then that it's great! I love the mane but I love the mane on all the demi.
