Darkmatter Torrent and Escalade

Yesterday we got revamps, so today we get new colors:



The Torrent's all turned around so it was hard for me to see where the face is. I keep thinking the left eye is the mouth xD; It's staring into the face of one of the darkmatter blobs -- cute.

The Escalade is another smug-looking evil-type thing. It has a "just as planned" look on the face that I like XD The darkmatter it's holding is angry, too, nice touch.

I like them both! The torrent is adorable with its face (it looks so curious and non-evil). The escalade is the exact opposite, but it fits and that fur is ohsopretty.

I absolutely adore how diabolical that escalade looks, I need to figure out what I could use this pet for because I seriously want the it badly 8| Also the fur is GORGEOUS

The torrent is just too adorable <3 and it's cool that you can flip it any way you want and it'll still look good sideways or right side up c: overall very solid colors

I keep going cross-eyed when looking at the torrent, and I also thought the eye was its mouth. XD The art itself is fine, and there's nothing wrong that the artist did, I think it's just too high of a contrast that's inherent with DM pets.

Escalade = gorgeous.

These revamps/new DM pets have me extremely excited for Wiki's future- she's been a DM Wyllop forever, and based off of the other Wyllop revamps I can't wait to see if this one also gets some loving attention.

The Torrent is quite lovely, and this is coming from someone who doesn't like fish. I love how it's interacting with the dark matters and the expression is quite priceless.

However my new love is the DM Escalade I believe. I'm not a fan of Escalades as a whole, but Lindsey does an amazing job with them and I will shortly own two of the species. The glow reflecting off the metal is wonderful and it's expression! I've been thinking of making Chocolat a DM pet and I just found the species.

Ohhhh that Torrent! *u* So adorable and flowy and pretty. I always feel sad that torrents are so pretty because I'm really not a fish person. XD

omg omg ESCALADE. SUCH A BADASS. I LOVE this pet, I've been waiting for another devious and evil Dark Matter pet (like the Telenine) and omg, here it is. Only BETTER because it's fluffy and awesome and omg. ;;

I was always told that DM is a "mind control" color, and that their expressions are usually supposed to be blank. But I'm looking at yesterday's thread and DMs and still seeing a lot of personality and expression, so I dunno.

The darkness on the Torrent (and I have a bright monitor) is making the pose confusing to me, but the Escalade is nice. I like the dark purples used for the scruff and tail.

The pose on the Torrent kind of confuses me. I'm not very fond of pets that appear upside down. I know it's unique and all, but I just don't think the Torrent artist quite succeeded with such a difficult position. The fins are too crowded together in my opinion.
But, on a lighter note, it's perfectly shaded. Not too dark, not too light. I also like the fact that it's blowing the Dark Matter up into the air.

The Escalade, I'm disappointed. The first thing I noticed is that it's right front leg, it seems to be coming from it's thigh. I can't see the detail as to where the arm and fur separate from the back legs. It's also rather dark. I'm not sure I like the dark purple. Maybe if it were a few shades lighter, I think it would help contrast with the dark grey fur. Unfortunately, the expression reminds me one of those Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles faces. That's the best way I can describe it. I want to love it, I really do...But I'm just not impressed. Sorry. =/

The Torrent is really beautiful, I love the details and the shading. The only quirk that bothers me is, as others mentioned, the positioning. It took me a moment to get my bearings when I first saw it, I think it might be better suited to being right side up.

Just a simple flip does a lot:

I can really appreciate the details when I can make sense of the pose better. It wasn't a bad idea or anything, considering it's a swimming pet and can theoretically be in any sort of pose, but I just don't think it turned out right.

Anyways, I still really like it. I'm a little surprised because I don't normally care for the fish pets, but I'm almost tempted to get one of these.

Aw, I think the torrent's adorable. I have a soft spot for them, and this one has lovely flowing fins and a really cute facial expression. The upside down pose doesn't bother me; I think it's a creative way to show its interaction with the darkmatter. It has the same problem as most darkmatter pets, though, in that it's a little too dark and some of the details get lost, especially in the tail fins. I adore my nightmare torrent and don't need another fish, but this is a nice addition to the torrent set.

I like both of these. It did take a few moments to get my eyes around the position of the torrent but now that I have it's definitely growing on me. I agree with bonecrivain about the dark colours and the loss of some details though. The Escalade is lovely, my only complaint would be that I want an Escalade but I can't decide what colour and this has given me yet another option to consider!

I love the Escalade. So much. I've been thinking about getting one for quite a while now and this just makes me want to even more. The fur looks absolutely lovely. The expression is also great, and the darkmatter in hand just absolutely seals it for me.

The Torrent, I'm unsure of. The pose it is in for some reason really confuses me, and makes me sorta dizzy looking at it. But simply flipping it, as Mistress Morbid did, makes everything better for me. I can appreciate the details a lot better that way, and don't get confused as to where the eyes and mouth of it are. I like the Torrent's expression as well, especially how it's interacting with the dark matter.

And the escalade. The tails. The taaaaaiiils! They're why I love escalades. So luscious!

The Torrent being upside down doesn't really bother me much. I think it's an interesting pose for this pet, and I love how it is totally enamored by that dark matter xD Torrents aren't my cup of tea but this is quite pretty.

The Escalade is a SEXY BEAST. Holy crap, that is a gorgeous Escalade. Oh my goodness. It's a good thing both Lindsey and Seerow got one right away because I'd be changing one of my pets immediately. I love the shade of purple and how delightfully EVIL it looks and like Ty I LOVE THE BIG FLUFFY TAILS XD

So, yeah, love the Escalade. I also like the Torrent; the position doesn't bother me so much, but it does remind me of Dory for some silly reason, which doesn't really fit with the color.
