Just found a Page 3 of Vernon's journal, by clicking the book that's lying on the floor.
Spoiler: open/close
Some of the newer models turned aggressive today, and I do not know why. When I last saw them, they were acting normal and complacent. This morning, however, I found them feverishly trying escape the enclosure. I managed to keep them contained, but received quite a nasty scratch for my troubles. After bandaging my arm, I returned to find them all completely calm, as if nothing had happened! This is quite worrying, indeed.

Lols! I wonder if they're all humanoids or if we've got a new robot species running around like the endeavors or cadogres.

Is anyone else frustrated with the Ballroom link at the top of the news taking you to the forums instead of the ballroom?

Er... it looks like the news was changed and now I don't have a link to the ballroom. :( Anyone know how I can get back into Vernon's office?

ETA: Yes, Huggles. Yes I am.

They also changed the links so that the numbers for each location are random.

Gah I really hate already random things being made even more random. The ~8 min wait time between being able to search with 13 different areas to check is already a time consuming process. Tack on the fact that it's random whether or not you'll even get an item and it's downright tedious. I've been at it for about 2hrs and haven't found a darned thing, and there's so far 5 total items to find.
Not really all excited anymore, now I'm just annoyed :(

Edit: Been at it over three hours now and nothing to show for it. Screw it, I'm going to bed. Here's to hoping for better luck tomorrow. Anyone know if auto refreshers are grounds for banning @@

...Well, that is ruddy annoying. =P I was hoping to find everything before I went to bed tonight.

Speaking of links, I can't seem to find my "area #8"/the 13th area. :/

Assuming the locations are the same for everyone:
Area 8 is the very bottom left corner of the purple table cloth, basically the bottom left of the picture. Took me ages to find that one!
Area 13 is the clock on the top left corner of the picture.

Ah, thanks Seerow! I checked the purple tablecloth and came up with nothing; I must have brushed over the area too quickly.

I don't understand why finding the item itself is random despite checking the correct area; it's not like if you lift up a book in real life *to specifically look for something* there's a 50% chance you're going to miss that something lying beneath it.

Huh, I'm pretty sure I've clicked on everything and only got two things. I wonder if it changes per day or something. I think the randomness is a little strange.

So, if the numbers are random now, can you just refresh on area 1 and have an equal chance of coming up with an item as you might while clicking around?

I really wish they wouldn't 'fix' things so it's harder for the people who couldn't take advantage of the earlier, easier way.

I think I may give up... I haven't found anything.

Where is area number 2?

ETA: Wait, found it. The area, not an item. I haven't seen any of those yet.

I just found that one, Wings--it's the red book on the floor in the back room of the study.

So far I've found
Spoiler: open/close
the toy, the Journal Page 2, and a Mining Permit - "A permit granting Vernon Yun the right to mine in an area just outside of Ziara City. The paper is torn and parts of it are obscured, but it seems he was mining for some kind of rare ore."

There are two other journal pages?
