It's getting to the point to where the situation is like someone said on here, "everything I like by this person I just really, really dislike."
And now I'm going to quote Huggles:
When the new thread starts up, about the dragon revamp, the DNA stuff shall be left behind. Blah blah blah insert whatever words one of the more diplomatic mods would use to say that this doesn't mean you have to like wuv her, like Ty said. The end.
And now me - discuss the artistic choices, not the person.

I think it's awful. But I've hated Dragarths ever since their revamp, so no surprise there.

The head's too small and the pose is weird. :|

And I REALLY HATE that shading technique. I know the dragarth is supposed to be "fluffy," but the shading really looks like it was just scribbled on. I can't seem to find the light source, either.

And the eye and mouth are way too bright. Especially since the rest of the pet is nothing but a black blob.

Now that you point it out ... yeah, where the hell is the light source, anyway?

I like the pose, and heck, the whole pet in concept...but not in execution. Add me as another voice of 'shiny new laptop and still thinks its too dark.' Its a shame really that on all the possible re-vamps of the dragon they've had them with wings. For me, their lack of wings was the only thing that really set them instantly apart visually from dragarths.

It might just be my computer screen {whoo for lcd flatscreens} but the pet doesn't look too dark to me 0_o, though if so many can' make out details then, I agree that the black needs to e lightened somewhat.

I actually think the blood is far too dark on the pet, there isn't enough contrast for me to make out where the blood is supposed to be, if the black and the blood were lightended just a touch, it might look a little better.

I do like the concept of a dragon rampant though, but the anatomy of the hind legs looks of and the face looks far too cheerful for a bloodred pet. I think I'd like it abit more if the fae looked more like this:

http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~h ... ture18.gif except more Dragarth-y.

That said I do love the colour used for the wing membrane and chest fur, it's a really gorgeous shade of pink.

I'm not even sure this is by DNA- doesn't she normally post her own work, rather than Luxe doing it? I can't tell by reading the comments attached to the news post or by reading the comments. It seems premature to judge the work based on who might have drawn it.

It is too dark, though- especially the blood. Comparing it to other bloodred pets, the difference is amazing. The demi is not old art, but it manages to pull of bloodred well- there is obvious red blood around. There is something on the ground beneath the dragarth's hind foot, but it doesn't look like blood. And there isn't enough obvious blood on its paws at all. Also, it would have helped if it had been given claws- just as the demi has claws in bloodred but does not in other colours, ditto the Kanis. And then it could have had blood on them- and on its teeth too.

I'm not saying this is awful, because the art quality is good, it's just incredibly mediocre for bloodred in terms of possessing the essence of the colour. And yes, it looks far too similar to the dragon- not the poor dragarth's fault, though.

*logs on to Subeta and see the revamp*

..Tch...I don't mind it, but it really doesn't have any blood for a BLOODred. Looks better then the normal Dragarth, I suppose I like it cause it's rearing up. I really like the pose...that's its' saving grace.

If I ever get my hands on a Bloodred elixir, I'm going Demi though. I'm not attached to this revamp. I knew it was going to happen sometime.

Due to a night of surfing cracked.com, and insane luck, I come upon this picture as I am listening to (I bullshit you not) Thriller.

I think I love you.

Nah, sometimes Luxe or Keith does it. DNA's been fairly quiet since the dragon plushie fiasco.

Anyway, to not get off topic, I -FINALLY- found a monitor that I could see the damned details on >< That's kinda bad if it took me 7 computers until I could see it :/

Well, I can see it alright, but the problem is that I don't like what I'm seeing. :? I pretty much second what everyone else said about this pet.

And it's not much of a hardware issue if only 1 in 20 people can see it well.

I would like to say here that essentially, there is currently a rule in place that people may not criticise DNA owing to the high level of personal attacks against her in a place in which she cannot respond (and yes, Kamil is correct in enforcing this, and a few of you certainly step over the line in how personal you make your remarks). However, as a result, we are not entirely keen to allow people to make posts strongly defending her, as they will inevitably lead back to the same defend - criticise - defend - criticise - personal attack - personal attack cycle as last time. Posts in that vein are not appropriate to a new colour discussion.

And for what it's worth, I can see the details fine, too - I suspect that the people who can't see it are simply more vocal. I love the Thriller version, however, and actually like the pet a lot more as a result :)

Actually, when I got home and looked at it on my (still very nice) home monitor I discovered that my work monitor IS one of the monitors that can see the details... and I still think it's too dark on that. It's WAY too dark on my home monitor.

I feel a need to clarify. Its not that my screen is so dark I can't see the shading and such on the pet, I just think its too dark anyways. I'm not saying I can't see the details at all, I just think, too dark, especially when paired with the pale pink color of the belly.

... >_>;; I don't like it one bit. Like 95% of users said, it's too dark. The legs are oddly positioned, and its mouth looks strange.

I LOVE the wings, though.

Sorry, but since this is your very first post, I'm laying down the modsmack in a more heavy handed fashion and editing out the DNA stuff.- Huggles
