Glacier Pets - New Colour
My first pet was a montre as well, Mayhem, and I am really increasingly worried about what its revamp will look like. This is the pet revamp that will affect me the most: montres are probably my favourite species in non-redraw form. What I love about them is their elegance and mysterious air, and none of the recent redraw for them have had either in my opinion. Auugh so worried...

The only one I like out of the latest three is the Mortiking. The Darkonite just looks weird to me, it looks squished and I don't like it's expression. I find the helmet on the Escalade awful, I know they're trying to make them look jagged like ice, but a little smoother would be nice. However I like the Mortiking, I think it's expression is nice, and I like the paler colours that are used.

Wow. I can't believe I'm disappointed with the Escalade. The thick lines must be it. Yeppers, it definitely is. And the blurriness.
Whereas the Mortiking looks like it has practically nonexistant lineart in places. Nope, no likey.
And the expression on the Darkonite doesn't do it for me. I don't like that one either...

I feel like this is the last batch for awhile. It almost feels like they made sure the first ones were the BEST looking, then they gave us a batch that was pretty good. Not phenomenal like the first, but pretty good. Then the last three were kind of mediocre. I'm sorry but nothing in the third set is doing it for me.
I'm not surprised by the line work on the mortiking to be honest, and it's legs don't look like they are touching the ground. It looks uneven. I like the brain on the darkonite...but generally that's it. The escalade makes me unhappy. I love almost all escalades, but this one doesn't excite me like the galactic and bloodred did

I felt the same way about galactic. When they came out, I immediately made a galactic kumos, figuring I could always make her a different galactic later if I ended up liking it more. I never did change her. I liked some of the later galactics okay (like wyllop and ontra), but a lot of them (devonti, montre, tigrean, ARCHAN, ugh) looked rushed and weird.Sarivonne wrote:It almost feels like they made sure the first ones were the BEST looking, then they gave us a batch that was pretty good. So far, I haven't seen a single glacier pet I actually want. The sheeta comes closest, but I'm not a fan of sheetas as a species, so the gorgeous art (and it IS gorgeous) isn't enough.

Kumoses. It's not Greek and it's not irregular.Huggles wrote:I know. I usually hate kumoses...kumosi...kumos...whatever!
Of the new batch, I am the most fond of the Mortiking, which is a first for me. I tend to like the furry, four-legged ones and the cute ones in general, but I think this one is particularly nicely done.
Dammit! I've been getting the cookie on the first click, and then getting lost on the second for like, the past five times now. UGH.
Even if I don't like any of the ones currently out, I'd really like a potion to hoard and use when one DOES come out. Because I know one of them will eventually strike my fancy. D:

Thanks.Twofold Black wrote:I don't usually do this, but I just have to: the word you're looking for is 'species' in both singular and plural form. 'Specie' is something else, an obscure term for coin (in the mass noun sense).Iggy wrote:specie
That's something school didn't teach me.

I has a bucket!! My god. I think the infuriation and monotony of getting lost on the first or second screen over 30 times in a row justifies the price of Glacier Potions.
I'm still pretty smitten with the Sheeta, but I'll wait to see the Demi, Popoko, and possibly the Feli before potioning. Hope they're good and not overtly snooty.

There... there must be something wrong with me. I love both the Montre and the Darkonite, and they're easily my two favorite Glacier pets so far D: I can forgive any flaws in the art simply because I love the design of both of them so much (c'mon, the Darko has a visible brain under glass. How fantastic is that? ), and the design is usually what I look for in a pet anyway. Because when I look at a pet I tend to see it in my own interpretation rather than the style it's actually drawn in... whoo that makes no sense o_O
Plus thin lines = OBSESSIVE ATTENTION TO DETAIL YAY I dunno why but I always love that
...I think I just figured out exactly WHY I like the Darkonite so much though. The head, the expression, and especially the color makes it kind of look like The Brain. XD I'm tempted to get one and give it some kind of rodenty minion named Pinky...
I really adore the Escalade's pose, though... like a big fluffy prissy lap dog... ;D
