Horseland was the first virtual pet site I played and then got bored of in 2000. Its name is pretty self-explanatory. The virtual horse site was up long before the cartoon and toys, which are MUCH different in general than the original feel of the site itself. I don't know if it's gotten any more diverse or fun since I got sucked into Neopets via one of the Horseland players who promoted it.

Man. I just had a look at marapets and I don't understand how it got so big. The pets are complete eyesores and the whole site is horribly crowded. Urgh.

nutrinopets.com is another, it's not that great though. :p

Yeah, and most of the stuff that's crowding it are ads...makes Neopets look stingy when it comes to adspace...

Verpets is another cool site, and so is Mweor. c:

Both aren't very known of but are really amazing sites.
