Maraquan Moehog (Almost Finished)

Post by Monkeyguy »

Any crits before I move on to coloring this? There are a couple of spots near the tail and head fin I'm going to play with a little more. This is the first piece of computer art I'm not embarrassed to show to people.

(Let me know if I should change this to a link instead)

Very well done! :) I like it a lot! Be sure to post the finished pic! I would just fix joint of the bottom left fin a bit - just make it a bit wider (hour glas shape) at the place where it conects with body

Very nice :D But I agree with Float about the cheek - it just looks a liitle off. I want to see it when it's done!

I've updated the first post with an almost finished version. Like I thought I didn't finish by Moehog day, but I'm still going to finish. Anyways, what I'm looking for are background suggestions because I can never think of anything.

I think a coral reef would make a nice background, but as that might take a lot of time, a kelp bed would work just as well.

A note: keep in mind that tusks are teeth, and come out of the mouth. In your picture they look a bit like they are coming from the cheeks.

Yeah, I kinda screwed up with the tusk. I should have fixed it when I first realized it, I'll tinker with it a bit.

I love that deep blue spongeyness you've given it (very Maraquan IMO) and the detail in the eyes is a nice touch.
You might want to fill in some of the blue dots on the inside of the mouth but apart from that, it's beautiful!
