I just got my copy of Diamond and I'm squeeing inside. I just named my character Alison and as props to Earthbound I named my friend Lucas.

Best of all, I have a female Chimchar! :D

I got my copy today, and just beat the first gym.

And I totally restarted 7 times just to get a female starter.

LOL. xD I have a male Grotle (which is the second form of Turtwig's family).

I LOVE this game. Holy crap. I'm suffering in school because I want to play this game ALL DAY. xD

Yes! They're a lot rarer - you only have a 12.5% chance of getting one - but then you can breed them.

And yay just beat the second gym! *hugs* I love you, game

Yeah, I thought you could only get Budew in the daytime, but on many routes they can be caught anytime, so don't worry about it.

You can breed males too, but the only way to get a Chimchar/Piplup/Turtwig (or any other male starter, for that matter) is to either breed them to a female of the same type, or to a Ditto. Breeding males to Dittos results in babies of the other pokemon it's bred with's species.

Right now, starters are INSANELY easy to get via the GTS. Just put up a Shinx, Starly, or other super-common pokemon and request it as your "wanted" pokemon, wait a day, and tada. :D It's how I got my Chimchar, and a friend gave me Turtwig that they got from GTS.

Most GTS pokemon you get are in Japanese, which doesn't make a difference with anything, except they might come with a few HMs on them. Just wait to get the Move Deleter guy to take them off later. When the Japanese pokemon evolves, the name turns into the English evolution's name, but the OT remains in Japanese. Also, when you breed Japanese pokemon, you get English babies. :D

YAY FOR THE GTS. Srs.

Does anyone know what the Oval Stone does?

Serebii says that a Round Stone is used to evolve Happiny into Chansey, but it looks identical to my Oval Stone. I tried giving it to Happiny (just to see if they'd mixed up the names), and even though Happiny loves me and has leveled up like 10 times, no evolution.
It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.

Gamefaqs says it's for Happiny -> Chansey. Can you use it on your Happiny instead of leveling with it holding the stone?

Also, yay for the GTS indeed! I have all three starters. Even the awful firemonkey. Glee.
