The Bovyne is nice, very nice. I'm not a terribly big fan of Devontis as is, but tentacles creep me out, so there's one pet I'll never be getting!

I agree, the Hikei gained some, lost some, but I overall like the new look. The DM Anyu is horrible, but I'm not fond of Anyus.. it's the different gradient that bothers me with the Anyu I think.

Also flames drawn on its belly are really nicely done and shaded. Flames around its feet are a bit confusing though - I wish they were done in a more transparent way like with Reborn Demi and Hikei and that they touch the ground rather than hower in mid air. And I don't get the horns - at all.

As for Devonti - that tentacle is freeking me out to much to comment. But than again most hydrus pets freak me out

The hydrus sheepie doesn't do anything for me.

As for the Reborn Bovyne - speaking as a Bovyne fan - there's something off about it. I like the colours, the pose, the tail, the flames on its belly/flanks. But something around the head/front feet area looks off. Too crowded, anatomically incorrect, unbalanced, something.

Oh, well. Nothing too exciting, but that's good for me - I have no room. ;P

The Devonti freaks me out too. I just cannot figure out what exactly is going on there, with the big wiggly asymmetrical horns and the extreme perspective on the tentacles, and that random curl of something bioluminescent off the back -- what is that supposed to be? I love tentacles, but this isn't working for me. I would have preferred to see a Devonti that was just <i>all tentacles</i>.

The Bovyne I think I love. The flames on the body are gorgeous, and I like the horns -- I like that there tends to be something a little disturbing about reborn pets. What is the story with them, anyway? I can make an educated guess, but what are they supposed to actually be?

Darkmatter are the minions of Maleria, the dark goddess of subeta.

They tend to swarm things, hence the amount of them around darkmatter items, and pets

They kind of took off (The idea of darkmatter) and became one of the most collected item sets on Subeta, so a lot of other matter items were created (ie: oracle matter, shinwas matter, light matter, crazy matter, etc)

Dark Matter reminds me of dark aether and the ing from metroid prime 2.. Even has purple glowing black balls when you're taking damage from the atmosphere.

Ya know, I love Devontis and I love Hydrus - but I so don't love the hydrus Devonti. Like many have said, the weirdness of the perspective and the odd tenticles everywhere is just too much; all I can see when I look at it is the huge tenticle that takes up most of the foreground and hence, most of my attention. From there you go to the other huge tenticle and then to the also huge horns with the widdle-tiny face, and, yeah. Not my cuppa. Ah well, I don't have room for one anyways.

The reborn Bovyne is gorgeous though - and I adore its blue eyes. Only one other reborn pet has those color eyes, but I love them. It would have been nifty, I suppose, if it had snorted flames, but the flame-tail whip thing is nifty enough. It'll do. =D

Devontis are my favourite species on Subeta, but I don't really know what to make of this. It still has the adorable sheepiness that I love, but...yeah. The tentacles. The tentacles. I understand they have a forced extreme perspective thing going on, and it isn't executed poorly or anything, I just don't like the idea. Why give a creature four back-tentacles when it has four perfectly morphable legs? And has horns! That's the main problem I have with it. It's as if they looked at the Devonti, made a list of everything on it they could turn into tentacles, and then blatantly ignored it. Now I realize that's probably not what happened, and I'm all for not taking the obvious route, but... really. This is silly.

The firecow is pretty. I don't want one, but I sure don't mind staring at it every time I check the news page.

Personally I like hydrus pets but I might like them more without the tentacle-ness, and the devonti is no exception. Ah well.

And the hikei revamp is an improvement, to me.

Dark Matter Kanis and Ruffie:

Eh. Well-done (I guess) colors for species I am entirely unable to get excited about. I do like the expression on the dark matter thingy the Ruffie is chewing on, though, and the Kanis' eyes are nice and blank and creepy. There's something weirdly bulgy about the Ruffie's front right foot, like it's retaining water, which makes me a little uncomfortable.

Hee, I really like the Ruffie - its expression is wonderfully done. The Kanis is nice too, but I much prefer a feathered/faded purple stroke. *points at Ruffie* But the eyes are wonderful, as Twofold said.

Nice pets. Don't have room for either, but still nice additions.

*whines for a reborn Endeavor* Since, yanno, Aqua's still got her pen out and all . . . =D And Chaffee would like me to <strike>whine</strike> inquire about the possibility of the other Sheeta redraws, dark matter, in particular.

The Ruffie is very cute <3 I'm not overawed by either of them, but they're both decent colour additions.

I'm just glad we're over the hydrus devonti, because I keep reading tentacle as testicle and 'that giant testicle in the foreground' is just not something I want to have to picture again.

Is this our offical thread for all new pets? Should it be stickied?

I really like the Kanis, enough that once I hit 10 mil, a darkmatter potion will be one of the things I spend it on. The eyes are my favourite part; I love how blank and...stare-y they are. And the pose is adorable, yay.

The Ruffie is drawn well, but nothing that really appeals to me. A purple puppy, mreh.

(and yes, I realize the Kanis is just a purple rabbit. Shush.)

I think both are really well drawn and am impressed by the life they both have - the kanis's eyes are amazing, and despite not liking Ruffies all that much, I like the darkmatter ruffie.

That said, neither make me want to run out and buy a darkmatter potion.
