Sprint:
PLUSES - less hassle than switching, no huge early termination fee
MINUSES - least coverage of the three, still have price of replacing phone
Verizon:
PLUS - best coverage
MINUSES - most expensive, hassle of switching, big ETF
AT&T:
PLUSES - cheapest rates, better coverage than Sprint, iPhone, no worries bout communicating with certain family and friends
MINUSES - hassle, iTunes, big ETF
I was just told the military people there generally use Sprint so the calls wouldn't count against our quota. With keeping our number, calls "home" would still be considered local. The spotty coverage is somewhat negated by a decent roaming option already included in our plan. I also found out that I was eligible for an upgrade credit on a new phone. And despite it simply being his job, my Sprint sales rep is really kewl. He and I joked about a BlackBerry being good enough (and fun enough) for the President to insist on trying to keep. So he showed me a "BarackBerry" Curve.
Sprint wins the race this time. I have just joined the
BlackBerry horde and am sticking with Sprint until further notice. Now to get used to this new phone - and figure out how to negate its one or two shortcomings (each time I get a phone, I find something I DO like about it that the next one, even if significantly better, lacks). I squeed over getting to use my 16gig MicroSD chip with it, so NO hassle about extra space or transferring my Instinct's music and pics and videos. And they look even better than they did on the Instinct's screen.
