Well, I can play heroes of might and magic IV on it, wheras on Vista it made it BSoD. I can also play games in general.
I got professional because I get free software with MSDN, and professional was what was offered. I know the difference between Professional and Ultimate wasn't enough for me to care about, but I'm not well-versed in professional vs basic.
There's a nifty compatibility option when you right click on an exe, you can get it to run in compatibility mode for pretty much any windows version you like.
I'd recommend you talk to a computer-savvy friend who will likely know what to do, or do your own research online.

If he dumped you because of a game, then you shouldn't feel that sad. Sounds petty to mefluffy-emo-wolf wrote:Thanks marah! It was all over a game I lent him. XD

I just want to make a quick post about this because I'm so incredibly proud of what I finished today. *WIN*
A friend of mine commissioned me to do this as a Christmas present for a friend of hers about a month ago, and after 8-10 hours of work - it's finally finished. It's the most intricate piece I've ever accomplished.
I hope you all enjoy:

Elzaim that is very beautiful! I love the little rabbit, is there a particular reason it has one?
May I ask what materials you used? I've been working on pimping a chandelier and I've been thinking about some metal "swirls". But the wire I have isn't as shiny as yours.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the comments.
Marah, the commissioner asked me to come up with a custom-designed pendant that somehow incorporated rabbits, or had a "rabbit-like" feel to it. I did a few sketches and she really liked this one, so I ran with it.
Also, the wire I used is a copper-based artistic wire that silver coated and non tarnish. For the piece above I used 18, 20, 22 and 26 guage.

Update on my life: no miraculous recovery for our dog. He passed away a week ago on Monday. He was so weak by that time that he couldn't even stand up so we had to make the decision not to have him suffer any more. It went just like the doctor said, to the detail. And I wasn't at home because I had to be out of the country due to work commitments (the trip had been set up in the beginning of the year, long before we even took the puppy), so I couldn't mourn properly, as I wasn't here. When I got back on Saturday, everything was over and taken care of. It just makes me feel empty.
