My brother, also a Neopets player, had the wonderful idea of a "Hairy" or "Furry" Paint Brush. Even if your Neopet wouldn't normally be furry, he or she now has a beautiful long coat. Like those sweets for bald people in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...

That'd be a bit redundant since that's pretty much all they do for Tyrannian nowadays. I'd have to murder Archkiel if TNT ever did implement said style paintbrush. Sorry, nothing personal. Anyway, I'll get back to the matter at hand. I want ninjas. Lots of ninjas. With the secret ninja training school and now Shenkuu, it's only fair. Pirates and Ninjas have been feuding since the dawn of time or the internet, I can never remember which, and it's out and out discrimination not to have them. That said,I look forward to killing them soon if they screw it up. Ninja outfits and cool weapons must be accompanied by a base color change. Just like pirates are mostly bluish grey, ninjas need their own color(s).

We haven't had this thread in a while, and since ninjas are all I really care about I'll let everyone else bring up the others.

The trouble with posting any really good ideas here is that TNT are reluctant to use anything user suggested for fear of copyright issues. But ninjas have been suggested multiple times, and besides, you can't copyright ninjas.

I wouldn't be that keen to have lots more anthro redraws, myself. But many of the ideas out there would really have to be done in anthro. Having said that, I would like to see a Neoquest II colour- blumaroos would become Rohanes, acaras would look like Mipsy etc. I'm not sure you'd be able to cover every single species- you almost certainly wouldn't- but you could use the bosses for the species which you don't have in the party: myncis could look like Scuzzy, for example. Or even use the monsters. The main problem with this idea is that NQII is rather old hat, so it would be a bit odd to do a colour themed after it.

There are already a lot of Halloween/Haunted Woods colours, so suggesting things like zombies is a bit pointless. You might get a bit of mileage out of a "recycled" colour, with the body in one colour and limbs and tail and so on in other colours... but that might be a nightmare to get consistent in all poses and it would also get accused of being "cheap", like those TV programmes that are composed of lots of clips of other TV programmes.

Oh, and if you're having ninja/Shenkuu then it would only be fair to suggest Altador/Greco-Roman, though some of that has already been done in royal (the royal korbats immediately spring to mind). And there is the issue that classical draperies aren't really that exciting when repeated for each species. If it were practical it might be fun to have origami pets, but seeing how they did the little item origami pets I'm not sure I'd really want to have that. For a start, I'd be pedantic and notice that it would be almost impossible to fold anything like what they drew from a single sheet of paper with no cuts, and secondly it would turn out like sponge and be a strange mishmash of 2D and 3D between poses.

One thing I really wouldn't want is anything remotely modern or real-world-ish like iPods or mobile phones or jeans or skateboards, a la Neopetz from the April fools several years back.

Gladiators, duh. Anything else for Altador would just be silly. And I seriously doubt there'd be any problems with posting new color ideas here. It's not as if we haven't before, or that other fansites haven't, or that the neoboards haven't, or people haven't filled out their idea and suggestions form with new color/pet ideas. Until someone from TNT comes out and says what exactly happened to the faerie eyrie, I'm going to go with it not being released because TNT is stupid and it was ugly. I simply cannot understand how someone could draw fanart of a Neopet, or just come up with some idea, and then find someway to sue TNT for copyright infringement. If they can, Lawyerbot is in need of a serious upgrade and I demand backpay for biscuit Neopets.

Alien and Plant. I want to see extraterrestrial versions of all the pets as that's quite a large scope to play with, and also some kind of sentient moveable plant life.

Another good redraw is really long overdue.

Yeah, a ninja paint brush would be beyond kick ass, but I get the feeling it would be bothersome to do, and I envision board wars about whether or not someones ninja character is an insult to ninjas.

I like internet joke ninjas, but have you met people who actually think they're ninjas? I've never met anyone I've wanted to stab in the face more. But that's unrelated to this topic.

I still kind of like the idea of a tartan paint brush, but I don't think it would catch on. Or maybe a purple paint brush that actually makes your pet purple. Shocking idea, I know, but there may be a market for it.

Damnit, I can't think of anything good. Ideas off the top of my head which my brain is going 'Christ, get your asses back here! Nobody wants to see that.'

Obese paint brush.

Plant paintbrush, like Trick said would be awesome. Oh no wait, this is TNT, which means it has the potential to be awesome but will be lazy art more likely.

I would also love an Altadorian paintbrush and I also liked that jewel idea that is hanging around on some petpage. Then there is the Neovian paintbrush idea, but those are all mentioned somewhere else.

Can I come up with ideas all of my own... well, I would rather like a garden gnome paint brush, some of the garden gnomes are very cute.
I would also like a paintbrush that morphed your pets into classical monsters only not the mutated kind. Think chimaera, yeti and asian dragon and other mythological beings. I know a lot of them exist allready a bit, but they could be more beautiful. (A redraw Uni with big wings for pegasus or something like that)
Wizard/mage paintbrush, would like that very much too, if executed well.
And as for colourfills, how about polkadot pets, or pets with a swirly pattern?

Someone on ppt did this and it was beyond awesome. I'd totally forgotten about it but it would be extremely cool if they brought back stone but made it more gargoyley like you suggest.

Tartan was one of the worst ideas TNT ever had for a pet colour. It's really hard for the artists to get right if they want to get the poses to be at all consistent. Plus, if you've ever played Kiko Match II and seen the tartan kikos you'll see it really doesn't work. Tartan patterns are best left for kilts and tins of shortbread.

In fact, the same goes for any colourfill pattern of that kind- when there are thirteen pictures to do for all the poses, any kind of pattern involves a lot of effort for the artists for what is seen as a "cheap" colour. I don't think we need more colourfills unless there's a really unique and interesting idea for them- otherwise it's just creating things for the sake of it and that rarely results in anything original or interesting.

I agree with Daisy about the colorfills, everyone else about how bad a Style paint brush would be (that'd be sick. It'd be like they really released Neopetz after all), and if I can't have a Ninja paint brush, I want an Altador brush, damnit.

I don't know how easy this would be to do, probably not at all but Ive always liked the idea of a DIY/custom Paint Brush. Upon painting your pet you'd be taken to a sort of flash studio or something where you could colourfill various parts of your pet. It would allow for some really original designs.
I know a lot of people do this themselves but TNT acknowledging that would be pretty cool.
