Wow. I like this one. It's got a lot of personality, too, and so much in fact that it doesn't suit any of my pets xD Perhaps I have to find myself one of those mystical plushies!
I love the shiny gems. They're lovely. And its whiskers-mouthantennae-things are so... whiskery! Plus, just old-Dragony enough to satisfy me. I don't mind there being another type of dragon around Subeta, being a fan of dragons.
In short, it's great. Can't wait to see the redraws!

I love the tree trunk look of the common one, with paws and tail looking like roots. Also I'm fond of the shape of its eyes. Horn jewels are a bit askew - right one is more behind than the left one, and shouldn't it be the other way around?
I only like how jewels look on the the common and twilight Sage - those jewels are very shiny and in proper emerald/sapphire colours. Pale versions on other bright colours don't work as well in my opinion.
It's not the type of pet I'd own, but I certainly feel it's a very pretty addition to the site.
(apologies for the lack of coherence and third grade sentences, my mind is really sluggish today)

This is interesting to me, because it's a very bug/feature kind of thing. There's not all that much wrong with the Sage's art -- which is not to say that there's nothing at all wrong with it -- so this sort of personal-preference thing becomes paramount. Some people think the gems are creepy and hate them; I think the gems are creepy and love them. I'm hugely tempted to steal Chandi's twilight Sage/Cobal idea (from page three of the thread), because I can vividly picture this hypothetical Sage's little Cobal attendant licking its gem-eyes to keep them clean.Goldenchaos wrote:Oh..see, the more I stare at it, the more the gems on the body look like eyes o_o
Uh, there's a lot wrong with me.

I hope, for your sake, that the graveyard Sage has wee grinning skulls in place of the gems. Perhaps skulls with tongues. That may be too creepy for Subeta, but it would rule.AngharadTy wrote:I also love the creepy factor. If I could come up with something even more creepy than "my skin is parting to show my gems"--creepy on top of that, rather--I'd probably make a Sage a.s.a.p.
Edit: I actually gave myself the heebie-jeebies.

I actually love the whole gems-in-skin thing precisely BECAUSE of the whole creepy factor. :B
...It actually vaguely reminds me of the Surinam toad somewhat. So yes, my theory is that the "gems" are in actuality eggs. Which will eventually hatch into dozens of tiny Chibi Sage-tadpole things and start bursting out from all over the parent Sage's body like the adorable little parasites they are.
I...I... I think I just out-creepy'd every other idea in this thread by about seven hundred degrees. D: Oh god there is something severely wrong with my brain. But now I want a Sage more than ever, dammit.
And I lol'd so hard at the Reborn Sage comment you have no idea. AND THE POT LEAF SHIELD HOLY CRAP. How was I unaware of this item's existence until now?
